Although “Powerage” may be most musicians favourite AC/DC record, it is a nadir as far as Bon’s lyrics go. Having said everything he passionately felt in TNT’s ’“The rock ‘n roll singer” and Dirty Deeds “Ain’t No Fun (Waiting ‘Round to Be a Millionaire)” Scott turned his hand at tried and tested songwriting methods to finish his contributions.
Ironically, the Young brothers were at their peak riffage, “Sin city” and “Riff raff” are among their most engaging riffs.
The closest Scott gets to a confessional is “Gone Shooting” but the structured professional songwriting is a poor substitute for the raw emotion he poured over earlier albums.
